Scared out of House and Home...

Here's just a little exerpt from a speech that Mayor Ray Nagin had this afternoon.



...This is the mother of all storms, This storm is so powerful, and growing more powerful every day, and I don't think we've seen anything like it. The National Weather Service is saying it's the worst possible storm that they can imagine, if that gives you some idea of what we're dealing with. This storm is so powerful that in 24 hours it went from a tropical storm to a Cat.4 Hurricane... The footprint of this storm went from 300 miles to 900 miles in a matter of hours. This is the real deal, this is not a test...

So, in other words... WE OUTTA HERE!!!

Stay or Go...

...that is the question of the hour... and I don't have an answer. Part of me wants to run like the wind and part of me doesn't want to leave. Hurricane Gustav is now a Cat. 4, and it's not even in the Gulf of Mexico yet.



Which means when it gets into the Gulf of Mexico it will get even huger (is that a word?) and it's headed this way... Who knows what we'll do. For right now we're headed to the camp to help Dad get the boat out of the water and get everything up on blocks to TRY and keep it out of the water... I'll keep you updated.

Calm before the storm...

So as I was driving down the road today, I noticed how beautiful the sky was. Clear, blue, bright white clouds... just beautiful...



Then it hit me, this is simply the calm before the storm... Cause this is what's headed our way...

WEATHER UNDERGROUND - I like this one better than weather.com because it has more maps and versions of everything for you to check out.

GET A GAME PLAN - On this site you'll find links to PDFs and web sites that can help you develop a simple but successful game plan.

MY STATE USA - This is a site where you can sign up for alerts to be sent to you via cell phone text message. When you get to the site, choose your state at the top. Then on the next page at the top left you can click on the link to add your cell # to the alerts list.

SOOOOOOOO READY!!!

Well, unfortunately (due to scheduling conflicts) I'm not sure when I will actually get to go to an LSU game this year - which is just sad considering we went to all of the home games last year, AND the SEC Championship Game (Thanks Daddy Banks!!!) Anywho - I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO READY for LSU Football to start up again!!! We'll be watching this weekend's opener in Monroe - not sure where, but at 4pm my butt WILL be in front of a television!

First Boat Ride

Yesterday afternoon we went to the camp. It was a nice afternoon, so we decided to go for a cruise. Dad suggested that we see how Kujeaux does on the boat since it was pretty cool out. Well, needless to say he was a little shaky at first, but then I think he kinda got into it!!!

A little road trip...

So we needed someone to go to Baton Rouge for work today... I volunteered to go - it's always nice to get out and about. When I got to BR, my tapes weren't ready yet... so I got to make a much needed detour to go visit my friends at The Moran Group. I miss them terribly, and it was SO great to get to see [most] of them!!! Love Y'all :-)

ONE YEAR!!!

It's hard to believe it's been a year already, but it's been an amazing one!!! We had a great date last night! Went to Fazzio's and then home to eat some year-old cake that was surprisingly good... And now we're going to try and start a family, so that's even more exciting! I can't wait to see what the rest of our years have in store for us!!!

NEW STUFF!!!!

So I recently got some new stuff from my AMAZING MOMMA that I would like to share with y'all!!! First are these 2 paintings that she did for me... yes, my mom painted these!!! Like I said, she's amazing :-)

These are hanging on our [white] wall in our dining area

Then there's our fancy new entertainment center that my parents got Josh and I for our birthday's... It's beautiful and takes up most of our wall, which is great cause it was a big, white, plain wall that needed a lot of help! To give you an idea of how great this thing is, the wall is 11'10" and the entertainment center is 8'10" - a perfect fit!!!

Thanks mom & dad for our awesome stuff - y'all are the best!!!

Oh, and while I was taking pictures of all our new stuff tonight, this little man was jumping at my legs to get me to take a picture of him too! Such a camera hog :-) Gotta love him!!!
